Safeguarding
We are an Operation Encompass school.
This is an initiative developed with Leicestershire Police to ensure that the school will be informed before the start of the next school day when a child or young person has been involved or exposed to a domestic abuse
incident the previous evening. This will enable the school to sensitively and appropriately support the child and family to ensure they feel safe and secure after an incident of domestic abuse.
If you wish to find out further information about Operation Encompass, please do contact the school and ask to speak to Mr. Caldwell who is our Operation Encompass key adult.
Oxley Primary School is committed to the welfare and safety of all our children in school. We have strict rules on the recruitment of teachers and ensure that all adults that work with us are vetted through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Wellbeing at the Heart of Oxley
At Oxley, we believe that positive mental health and wellbeing are essential for every child to feel safe, happy and ready to learn. Our curriculum supports the development of the whole child—spiritually, physically, emotionally and morally—while recognising that every child is unique. By providing positive early experiences and a caring, inclusive environment, we help children develop confidence, resilience, emotional awareness and the skills needed to thrive throughout their lives.
Mental health and wellbeing are a shared responsibility across #TeamOxley. Through our PSHE curriculum, Zones of Regulation, Everyone’s Welcome programme and pupil Wellbeing Ambassadors, children learn to understand their emotions, celebrate difference and seek help when they need it. We work closely with families and encourage anyone with concerns to speak to their child’s class teacher or a member of our pastoral and safeguarding team. Our brochure also provides trusted sources of advice and support for children, parents and carers.
